Bangaru Kamakshi is a revered form of Goddess Kamakshi, primarily worshipped in the temple at Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu. "Bangaru" means gold, and the deity is made of pure gold, symbolizing wealth, prosperity, and divine grace. The idol of Bangaru Kamakshi was originally in Kanchipuram but was relocated to Thanjavur during the 18th century for protection during times of invasion.

The goddess is a form of Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva, and is worshipped as the ultimate embodiment of love, compassion, and divine energy. The temple of Bangaru Kamakshi is a significant spiritual center, attracting devotees who seek her blessings for prosperity and well-being.

Our artwork is digitally crafted on genuine gold-leaf–inspired paper, imparting a timeless sepia warmth with gracefully muted hues and radiant golden highlights. Each piece evokes the nostalgia of heritage art — softly luminous, richly detailed, and visually meditative — preserving the charm of age-old craftsmanship through a modern digital medium.

Note: These artworks are not three-dimensional.
If you wish to experience this design in full 3D relief with authentic gold foil and layered depth, please visit our Tanjore Painting section, where we can recreate the same artwork using traditional techniques and materials.
