Dakshinamurthy

Dakshinamurthy is a revered aspect of Lord Shiva, depicted as the supreme teacher and guru of wisdom, knowledge, and music. In this form, Shiva imparts divine knowledge to sages and seekers. Dakshinamurthy is traditionally shown seated under a banyan tree, facing south (Dakshina), with one hand in the gesture of knowledge bestowal (chin mudra) and surrounded by sages. He embodies the ultimate guru who dispels ignorance and grants spiritual enlightenment.
